A Week in the Life of A Fellow

Fellows will be meeting with their mentors whenever during the week they can, but here is a typical week’s schedule for a Fellow.

Sunday -- Worship and Ministry

  • Sunday morning is spent in worship and assisting with children's and youth ministries.
  • Sunday evening is spent working with children and youth at the church.

Monday -- Study and Education

(Fall-Reading the World and the Word, a class on engaging culture with a biblical perspective; Spring-Connecting Head to Heart, a class on apologetics and evangelism in a post-Christian world that tries to connect our faith dynamically to the workplace.)

  • Monday morning is devoted to graduate-level courses through Reformed Theological Seminary (Fall - Cultural Engagement; Spring - Apologetics).
  • Monday afternoon is time for individual study.
  • Monday evening, the Fellows join the program director for dinner, prayer, and roundtable discussions.

Tuesday-Thursday -- Marketplace and Ministry

  • Tuesday through Thursday are spent in workplace internships. The Fellows are matched with internships that will further their vocational interests and their spiritual growth. Fellows are matched with mentors who help them understand the impact of their faith on the marketplace.
  • Wednesday nights involve evangelism and discipleship training. Other nights may involve assistance with various MPC children's and youth ministry activities.

Friday -- Study, Seminars, and Service

  • Friday mornings begin with bible study followed by a Biblical Theology course with a variety of seminars led by Christian leaders and thinkers. The Biblical Theology course lays the foundation, knitting together the Bible, making it more accessible to the layperson. The seminars equip the Fellows as they learn to balance their spiritual, work, and family lives.
  • Friday afternoons involve time for individual study. This time is followed by tutoring and other means of serving our city and community. Service is a bridge to understanding the nature of the church and its mission in the world.

Saturday -- Day Off

  • Saturday is the Fellows' day off.
